About Us

The Ponca Community Educational Foundation (PCEF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing education in Ponca, Nebraska by making it more equitable and effective—so every student graduates ready to succeed in college or the workforce and contribute to the community as informed citizens.

​

Founded in 1984 by a prominent local family with a deep passion for education, PCEF was created to support the students and staff of the Ponca School District. From the beginning, the Foundation has been rooted in the belief that strong schools build strong communities.

Over the years, PCEF has grown from awarding scholarships to graduating seniors into a comprehensive source of educational support. Today, we provide:

• Scholarships for graduating seniors

• Scholarships for Ponca alumni

• Special use grants for teachers and staff

• Emergency assistance funds to help remove barriers to learning

Our sole purpose is education. We proudly support anyone and everyone within the Ponca School District—students and staff alike—ensuring access to opportunities that may otherwise be out of reach.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors:

• $49,850 was awarded in scholarships to seniors and alumni last year

• $54,324 was awarded to Ponca staff last year

• $951,496.12 has been invested in Ponca students and staff since 1984

PCEF is funded through donations, memorials, endowments, bequests, and memberships. Each gift reflects a shared commitment to education and to the future of the Ponca community.
